I have a KS5 kitchen aid for 30 yrs and never heard of changing the grease. I checked YouTube and there are great videos, I only watched one, as it was my exact mixer.
I will order 2 replacement parts as suggested in the video because they most likely will be worn. The grease from kitchen aid is $60, so I will be using the one he uses. It is $10 on Amazon. When I get all my parts , I'll attempt this project.
I'm back North so I won't have village tinker to call if I have parts left over after assembling. That's the scary part, lots of little parts and screws.
