Hair dressers and barbers stand behind you. Hairdressers tend to wear gloves much of the time anyway. And there is a lot of washing hands. So I think hair salons will be one of the first to open as it is straight forward how to set up social distancing.

Retail stores like Bealls might be able to open, but dressing rooms would be closed and they would limit the amount of people to allow social distancing.

Gyms and outdoor activities with your own equipment and sport pools with social distancing.

For sport pools they might have to store the pool lounge chairs for a bit, so people don’t congregate on those. Right now they count people going in for water Zumba classes and water volleyball, and they might want to lower the number they let in. For volleyball they might want to play 4 on 4 rather than 6 on 6. (And if they do that they might want to have split sessions, one hour each, as 4 on 4 can be pretty tiring.)

Courts would have to be reserved so there are no lines.

Indoor activities they could limit. They do count for aerobic classes, so they could limit the number smaller. Have activity clubs like pottery limit themselves so there is enough room not to be near each other. Social dancing might be verboten for now.

Restaurants that could operate with half the tables spread 6 feet apart could open. Perhaps they will be required to be reservation only.

Live entertainment on the squares could start with jazz trios or other listening type music. I don’t think the mosh pit dancing is coming for awhile. Perhaps they could have line dancing at one square, ensuring everyone is 6 feet apart.

However, before they do any of this I’d like to see our active cases in the Villages to be very small, like single digits. Though we have had over 70 cases in the Villages, I’m sure some of them have recovered, but I don’t know how many.
