I learned the hard way. Florida roots are even more sensitive than Ohio ones. We quickly replanted (but not quickly enough) the bushes given to us by JoJo when she was having a pool put in. Next time, we will have the holes dug, before we dig up the plants. About 60% will survive, but I have learned a lesson. Sandy soil does not clump around the roots here and so they are exposed when they are removed from the ground. They were out of the ground over an hour and they were badly traumatized.
