Several years ago, planning a trip to SW France, I offered on TOTV to light a candle and say a prayer or whatever people wanted me to say. We loved to explore ancient churches, and most all had candles to light for a donation. I can't remember exactly, but I think I got 30-40 requests. I had a list. I tried to take pictures to send back to the people, but it was usually too dark. I didn't have the low light capability I have on my present camera. We must have spent nearly €100. It was very uplifting. And we got to see many churches we probably would have otherwise driven by.
