You haven't received any replies because a concrete shower isn't really a type of shower. Some builders use fiberglass shower inserts because they're much cheaper and easier to install than tile showers. The other option is a tile shower, which is basically tile applied over a board product.
In the past installers, builders used green board, which was a drywall specially made for damp areas that was water resistant. Nowadays green board has been replaced by Durock backer board, which nick-name is cement board, which is probably what you heard, just say you want a tile shower or an artificial stone shower.
I'm planning on having a fiberglass shower removed in the very near future myself and replaced with a tile shower or two other products. After reading reviews and I've kind of narrowed it down to local companies who use newer products that are replacing tile, and I plan to call them.
