With Covid 19 you don't show symptoms for up to 14 days yet you are contagious. So you can go to a restaurant or out in public not run into anyone who looks sick but then you can catch the virus and become very ill. A virus needs a host. When you keep people apart the virus dies off when it does not have a host. If you bring people back together in restaurants, bars, etc. then the disease will begin spreading again if it is still viable and the numbers will shoot up. Although there are those that are asymptomatic they can get other people very sick. So they need to have wide spread testing to separate carriers. Had that been accomplished early on the virus would not have spread as fast and killed so many.
