I agree. This is a very confusing issue that even some insurance agents cannot explain. I understand that all homeowners policies in Florida must cover "catastophic ground collapse" which covers damage to your house. However, "sinkhole" insurance is an optional item of coverage that does not require damage to your house, but only damage to your property to collect benefits. The main thing to look for is the word "sinkhole" written on your policy document. If it doesn't say "sinkhole", you probably have the standard "catastrophic ground collapse" Florida policy.
