Sweden's death rate per million is higher than other Baltic states, but less than many other European countries, slightly higher than USA.
If Sweden achieves herd immunity in a few months, their death rate will drop to almost zero, while lockdown countries will see deaths continue to grow for next two years or until vaccine is developed. In the end they may lose the battle but win the war.

Latest stats show Swedens death rate at 12.3, with the USA at 5.8. That's more than double, not "slightly higher".
