Unfortunately, with the current state of this world, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. There will always be Monday morning Quarterbacks to stir the pot, regardless of the policy followed.
The only guarantee is that when this is over, there will be someone (on either side) patting themselves on the back, and spouting how they were right. Until then, we are free to do what we feel is the right thing to do. Only time will tell, no sense dying from an ulcer trying to change peoples minds.
