I live on a preserve, have a covered open lanai (solid structure and birdcage), and have had a tv outside for the almost 6 years we've lived here (brand is insignia and have cable service). We don't cover the tv and have never had an issue. We also have sunshades and if we are sitting outside and weather pops up, we lower the shade.
