If the morbidity for seniors is a lot higher than the younger population it’s safe to assume that most of the celebrants you saw were seniors.
I wonder how they would respond if offered a hat with five chips in it — four saying “free dinner for you and your party” and the fifth saying “you die”? How many do you think would play the game? Because those are pretty close to the real odds if a senior gets infected.
By the way, the CDC’s current definition of “senior” for the purpose of calculating morbidity rates for the coronavirus is age 50 and above.
