If those folks felt it was safe enough to mingle together, that is their problem and their use of their freedom, whether or not you approve. No one has declared martial law and we do not live in the USSR. Get over it. If you don't approve, fine....jot down your disapproval and move on with your life. People like some of you are responsible for seat belt laws, warning labels on tobacco and helmet laws. Things that REQUIRE the gov to dictate to you how you are to live your lives. I grew up with NO seat belts and made it just fine. No one needed a warning label on tobacco to know that it was dangerous and Florida is one of the few states that does not have a helmet law. Some folks can use common sense and manage their own lifestyles and others are just wasting oxygen. The same ones that complain about groups of people having fun are the same ones that complain about lawn ornaments and improper parking. I am surprised that some of you can live so long with all the stress you impose on yourselves over what other folks are doing that you do not approve of. Folks have differing opinions and that is not a bad thing. I wonder how many of you social distance and wear masks during the flu season. A lot of folks die from the flu every year. The handy wipes at the entrance to stores did not start just since the virus pandemic.
That said, I wear my mask and gloves when I go shopping and I try to social distance when it is possible. Do I social distance all the time? No, because I interact with my neighbors across the street. They are out and about every day. I am not. But, I refuse to live in fear. I will take the precautions that suit me. No matter how much you protect yourself, there is always going to be those that either protect themselves better or worst than what you feel is suitable. So be it. It is what it is.
Stress will kill you also. If you do not like what others are doing, then stay home. Maybe the person complaining did not have a legitimate reason for driving past that group of folks that were enjoying life. Maybe that person was taking just as much chance being out and about as they were, when he or she did not need to be out and about. Who knows? I really don't care, because I will concern myself with myself and my spouse, and not everyone else. In my opinion, the world is over populated anyway. Maybe the stupid should make way for the contributors. In my opinion, it is not up to the gov to protect the stupid and it is definitely not my responsibility to take on the job. I have better things to do. I plan on enjoying what time I have left on earth before I get planted under the earth. But, by all means, if you insist on making everyone else's business yours, then stress yourself out and shorten your own life doing so. I am not going insist that you change your lifestyle to comply with mine. I am merely mentioning my opinion and giving a bit of a suggestion. Take it or leave it. I don't need the Constitution as reference to tell me that we live in a free country. For some of us that fought for it, FREEDOM has a flavor that the protected will never taste. I neither wish to control your actions or be controlled by anyone's wishes or opinions. My only concern today is of running out of toilet paper, and that worry is very slight since I have enough to last me a month without having to shop for more. And on a positive note, since we are mostly cloistered at home I have no need to worry about my barber shop reopening soon.
I do take the pandemic seriously. I just do not feel it to be my responsibility to force others to take it seriously.
Have a great day.............or not. It's your choice.
