I agree with you: It is wonderful news. But... lots of us don't exactly know FOR ABSOLUTE CERTAIN where to find the statistics you read.

Wouldn't it be a better thing in stating one's position to say WHERE/DATE that one's opinion comes from? There is so much printed menure out there in print that it is very NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to "know" anything absolutely. We've become a nation where our assumptions and guesses and gut feelings have buried, or very nearly so, the acceptance of science as truthful. God help us every one if that trend continues.
