Biggest consideration is do you use a lot of data or not. If you are only looking for phone service then the options are much better.
Before you switch, do your homework on a) how much trouble and expense is it to get out of existing contract and b) how hard will it to be to go back. I did not do that and had to spend considerable time and money to return to ATT from Tmobile. Phone service was fine but data was horrible despite all the misleading coverage maps they put on their websites.
I now use Xfinity(Verizon network) which is probably the best deal if you use a lot of data. Switched to them from AT&T. Seen some warnings that carriers give their direct customers priority in congested areas but I have not experienced that problem. And I do travel alot into rural areas. One big advantage of Xfinity is that you don't have to use multiple phones to get the great discount like with Verizon and AT&T. I have one phone with unlimited and one on the 1GB plan. Saved almost $100 a month.
