Vandalizing someone's property between $200 and $1000 is a misdemeanor first degree in Florida. Penalty is up to $1000 fine and up to 1 year in prison.

If it's his first offense, he'd probably just have to pay the fine, no prison at all. Even if it wasn't his first offense, he'd get a commuted sentence, because this is Florida and they let wife beaters go free for more offense than ripping flags down off a flagpole.
