Got a good spanking for bringing this up but no one has answered the question. Why? Maybe there’s a great reason. Just curious. Thanks for all the replies. The answer is that The Villages is a CDD. We do not take up a petition and change things. This is not like Orlando where you vote a mayor in or out. This is a large and well run development established and organized and maintained by the developer. Most of us are rather glad of that. We are glad that new folks can't vote in a little of this or a change in that not only because most of us think it is dandy the way it is, but also all the changes cost money. There are many who when it's cold for a few weeks want some indoor pools, there are those who want to take out the traffic circles and many other suggestions that would possibly make things nice, but cost all of us, because we are the people who will pay for the changes. There is a workshop offered every few weeks in ordinary times for people that explain just how things work in a CDD. It is most enlightening.
