My husband was a Chicago police officer for 27 years and never talked about what he experienced each day on the job until after his retirement. If I would have known I probably would not have been so supportive of his career. After retirement he couldn't get policing out of his system so took a part time police position in a small town outside of Chicago for another 8 years. Family includes 4 retired police and 2 still active in Chicago plus 2 daughters both nurses. Proud of every one of them.
