I recently reconnected with a fellow I had gone to high school and college with, and he has definite views on dealing with Covid-19. He recently wrote this, to which I replied with what follows. I guess we all have our own respective views—to which we're all entitled....

He had written:
I bought the panic like everyone else, but as I am not frail, can hope that if I do get it, it will be like my annual viral nastiness. This being the case I liberated myself and to my surprise I find that thousands of other people here in the Tucson area have done the same. For a surprisingly many people here the craziness is over.
And I wrote back:
My choice is not to chance it, ... and besides, I am really enjoying this time at home! At the same time, the FL governor opened the state, and this is the result. Sad—but we all have our own self-will, and if this is the only way we will learn anything, so be it....
Florida sees largest daily number of new COVID-19 cases since mid-April | TheHill
... and this is the same story in AZ resulting from your governor opening your state:
Record number of positive COVID-19 cases reported on Friday as Arizona passes 1,000 deaths
Out of curiosity I 'ducked' the population of AZ, and this is what came up: 7,378,494. Here on community postings there are people who look at these numbers and say but that's only 0.0001355% of the population—practically nothing!; others focus on ... a thousand grieving families who've just dealt with the unexpected and terrible death of a loved one who in so many instances suffered and died without the presence and support of family because of the potential of contagion....
The governor of NY took a different approach; we follow it since we lived all our lives there till moving to FL and have family and friends there. It's gratifying to see that different approaches can bring different results:
