IMHO the situation in Seattle has nothing to with improving racial relations or trying to resolve racial bias in order to achieve mutual respect and understanding. Instead, I see radical terrorist ideology using an army to take over a city. This is an act of war, not a protest.
One has to wonder what ties to other terrorist groups, like ISIS, Boko haram or others, they may have. Which groups, organizations have organized and funded this horror.
In this instance I do not believe that there is true desire for a peaceful dialogue on the part of the terrorists. Once they see how far they can go they will sue for peace, only to move on to new territory and start over again, with ever increasing violence and terror.
Like a blackmailer, once they get you to bend to their will, the demands and threats only increase.
This can not and will not end well, I am afraid. It's like a deadly cancer and the treatment will be painful and recovery will take a long time. And, like cancer we will have to be more vigilant in monitoring the patient and react immediately and decisively to any re-occurrence.
Again, this is not, imho, an attempt to promote racial unity and harmony. It can only be viewed as a tactic used to create discord and devide us during this trying time.
