Reply to 104 shot in Chicago
Anyone who grew up in a large metro area when we were young knows that urban violence that big cities are experiencing today would never have been tolerated when we were young. Things really started to change in law enforcement and society about 1980. In the 50’s, 60’s and even the 70’s large police departments would have never put up with today’s violence. Today they want nicer touchy feely social worker police officers. Citizens want a safe environment and expect the police to handle it while the police officer worries about every decision he or she might make. They know that the police brass will not back them if they were to make that split second decision that is controversial. I am in no way condoning police brutality or supporting those bad apples. It all started with the breakdown of the family unit and discipline in school.
