I remember at the U of MN Law School in 1986 that the Class of 1989 had about 2 African America law students in a Class of about 260. And the Class of 1990 had maybe 4 African Americans and one of these was actually a Caucasian who lied on his application. And the Class of 1991 had around the same number of about 4 or 5 African Americans. Each of these Classes was around 250-275 students.
The Attorney General of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, was one of the African Americans in the Class of 1990 and he was also the only Muslim that I recall in that Class.
We did have a few African American law professors.
