I didn't mention because I didn't know, didn't see the signs. Wasn't really looking either.
In my opinion this is a good thing for most residents and a bad thing for the many dog owners who are responsible and don't use the postal stations as a dog bathroom. I walk my Golden Retrievers to the Hillsborough mail station for exercise (getting to and from there) and to pickup my mail. They rarely do anything there beyond going crazy sniffing as dogs do.
Will the signs stop the inconsiderate, doubtful. Will it be enforceable, questionable at best. Will it cause strife between the residents and the inconsiderate, you bet it will. Who will be to blame, I think we all know the answer.
