That is the NRA in a nutshell, now. A far cry from what it once was.

Other than personal gun sales and family exchanges, ALL gun sales through a gun business/store requires a background check. I have frequented gun shows for years and always had to have a background check to purchase a gun. The only exception to that rule was when I had a CCW, which requires an extensive background and proof that one has the ability and knowledge of handling a gun safely.
I think that some folks like to believe that the NRA is the boogieman, but that is more likely just due to ignorance. I support the NRA even though I am not a member. They have done a lot of good. They have improved gun safety in schools and proficiency in law enforcement.
