While I suspect that we may actually be on the same side of the issue, I feel the need to respond to your question about "treated like a black person" by asking, do I get to choose which black person that might be? There are thousands of black, hispanic, Asian and others in a better economic situation than I. They eat fine food, live in fine homes have top notch educations and get preferential treatment that I, or most living here, could only dream of. That said, since there is no way in reality to actually "walk in another's shoes", most of us could at least try to imagine what it might be like. I, like a host of others, have lived, worked, served, mixed with people of all races, backgrounds and cultures. All can point to injustice, to their group as having been mistreated at some time(s) in history. Still, in the world, not just here, today there is injustice and inequality, prejudice and bias of all kinds.
When I look at all of human history I believe I see things slowly evolving into a better world. The road to MUTUAL respect and acceptance is long, and we have come a long way. But there is still a long way to go. Can we walk that road peacefully together, or do we have to continually bicker and squabble and destroy our chances of moving on? That choice is in your mind, your heart, and in your willingness to leave the past where it belongs, in the history books, and join us in peace and brotherhood and into a better future for all.
(I mean this for everyone.) It is up to you.
Stay safe. Stay well. Peace!
