In Hawai'i, a gecko in the house is considered good luck because they go after the bugs and centipedes. Hawai'ian centipedes are nasty buggas. Nine inches long and their bite will put you in severe pain for 7-10 days. I'll take geckos and anoles any day over bugs in the house.
