Those cherries are priced by the pound, not the bag. It could be she wanted more than was in the bag, but not another full bag. I see no difference in this than in handling the potatoes, onions, green onions, peaches, apricots, plums, etc. I would think that she and anyone else purchasing cherries would wash them before eating, anyway.
