Curious as to what direction your home/ garage face? Ours is TRUE WEST. We'd probably need a 3 ton unit to cool it in the afternoon. The outside of the garage door and our front storm door get so hot we can't even touch it. The garage door is new and heavily insulated so it keeps down heat transmission inside somewhat but temps inside often equal outside.
