For some reason, Americans do not understand "within limitations." Protest, but understand limits. Americans overeat, over drink and over indulge in recreation. I do not agree with BLM, but they have a right. But, where does that right govern itself so as to be most effective? First off, it has become violent and destructive, whether they claim association with the perpetrators or not. They are in ONE group and they have become more nuisance than effective demonstration. They have alienated many and forced racism on those that before this, were very sympathetic. I do NOT believe in "systemic racism" period. Blacks being killed by COPs is less in count than whites. It is proven by FBI stats that a white is more likely to be shot by a cop than a black, and that black cops are more likely to shoot than white cops. I will sympathize with blacks when they start putting more effort into demonstrating against black on black violence than a few blacks that have been shot by cops. And a point of fact is that most folks shot by cops have a previous record, and most shootings are deemed justified. A few bad shootings does not make for a legitimate protest, especially violent ones.
Regarding kneeling at the games, I find it amusing that the original agitator for this action was Colin Kaepernick. His motivation for this action was not dealing with Black Justice other than his own. He was about to be benched and possibly traded and he had a childish tantrum. He took a knee and then when called out on it, he came up with the black injustice and cop killing as his reasoning. The joke is on all those that support it.
To take a knee during the playing of the National Anthem and displaying of the American flag is disrespectful to all those that died or served this country. It is disrespectful of those good law enforcement officers that serve their communities with professionalism and dedication.
Those that use the strawman's reasoning that "I bet you don't stand for the Anthem at home" are using a weak argument. We stand to SHOW our loyalty and respect for those that serve/served this country. You either have respect or you don't. Making an argument that this black thing has any right to impinge on half the country's population that hold patriotism reverent is damaging, and not productive. Yes, it spotlights a very small problem that requires a very small point of attention. There is simply NO "systemic racism" in this country, period. Yes, there are some individuals that are prejudiced, but that is not indicative of a large racism problem that needs world wide attention. We now have more important matters to address, such as a deadly virus pandemic and to cause so much resources to be diverted to address a small matter such as implied black slights, is tantamount to being criminal.
National Athletic organizations do not empathize with this BLM, but merely coddle it in hopes of avoiding unruly or disruptive spoiled and overpaid athletes and the loss of possible viewers/supporters. It's all business and money to them.
All lives matter, including but not exclusive to the black population. COPs lives matter also, as well as the victims of crimes that are being put in harms way by having law enforcement funding cut. A social worker cannot do what a trained law enforcement officer can.
All this will go away after the Nov election. And I will bet money on it. No politician in leadership will put up with this disruptive destruction and violence unless they are worried about votes.
