I think the $50 is one-time for the entire stay of the rental? There has to be some admin costs associated. Does $50 seem high?
I never thought about the way it could be manipulated but Jeffy makes a good point on the reason behind it.
Personally I think it is great that you can rent a home and get the benefits that the owner has. I'd hate to see that taken away.
