Regarding the garage door, it has to be aluminum because of the code it cannot be wood (too heavy) or vinyl (expands and shrinks) also have to have inside braces for hurricane protection, the sliders and windows you are correct, they are “builders grade” which are compliant but cheap, all builders do this, unless you are contracting your own and specifying what quality and brands you want. As the light on the ceiling fan, well a lot of people don’t want them, and the ceiling fan is also “builders grade”
