I went on tour to the models and the property and units are lovely (just what you would expect from The Villages). It is one short block to the dining, movies and shopping of Brownwood. Yes, there is an elevator and it is quiet. This is a wood frame not concrete so how quiet it is between units would be hard to say.
That said the small one bedroom is $1,640 plus the additional approx. $400 for the amenities, water, sewer, garbage and electric bills. So it is approximately $2,000 total. Normally on a rental you would only pay for the rental of $1,640 and your phone but not here. It is set up like a condo in that respect. Everyone pays their own bill. I am not sure how they would handle repairs (garbage disposal etc.) as they come up in each unit.
If you have the money to do it and you don't want the upkeep of a house this may be the perfect option. Not everyone wants a house or can keep up with it as they age. For me, I like my house and will pay people to help me with everything as needed.
