We met a couple at Lakewood Winery who raved about the authenticity of the crab cakes at the Whale’s Tale in Mt Dora. Unfortunately it takes more than Old Bay to recreate MD crab cakes. IMHO, they were just ok. We’ve had crab cakes shipped here on dry ice and they were excellent and yes, expensive but they’re also expensive in MD.

I believe they came from Jimmys Famous Seafood, a restaurant in MD that ships crab cakes on dry ice. They are not frozen and they caution against freezing them. They were excellent.
