That is nothing new. I’ve read from the beginning of this pandemic to clean your food before putting in refrigerator or freezer because it has been shown that the virus does not die (or you can say the virus continues to be present if you want to be technical) when chilled or frozen. Which is why even though they tell us now that surfaces is not the usual route for the virus, I continue to clean all my foods, especially if going into the freezer. “Not usual route” does not mean impossible.
