Just to clarify, here's why I'm against pool monitors:
in very ROUND numbers
20 pools monitored on average 10 hours per day (365peryear) equals 73,000 hours.
At $5 per hour the spend would be $365,000
And, I agree, the paths north of 466 are narrow
and, I agree, the people drive too fast
and, I agree, that equals a dangerous situation
But I exercise as much caution is spending $$$$$ to widen the paths as I do to drive on them.
To widen the paths with a broad stroke across the northern half of The Villages would be costly and I don't think it would reduce accidents 'significantly'.
Now, I know ONE life saved or ONE injury averted makes it worth while but I have heard of a couple of accidents SOUTH of 466 recently and none on the north.
Bear in mind I'm not saying 'don't widen', I'm just saying go slow on this project "and in your golf cart".
