The initial hoarding contributed to shortages, and it took awhile for manufacturers to catch up. But the hoarding itself was short-lived, since most stores imposed limits on items after they realized people were being irresponsible and greedy.

There aren't as many brands of paper towels and toilet paper as there was previously. But there's plenty of it, and plenty of a variety of strengths/softness (or lack thereof). Keep in mind though this is hurricane season, which means people will STILL buy more than they need whenever there's a "hurricane watch" or "severe thunderstorm warning" in the area. It's just the typical nonsense though. You won't need to panic if you don't see your favorite can of soup on the shelf.

Some items run out quicker than they did, when the shipment comes in. But it's usually replenished within a day or two, or readily available at one of the many other stores nearby.
Or maybe they were being responsible by stocking up so they could stay home as was highly recommended. That’s a far cry from being irresponsible and greedy.
