Whalen, Thanks for posting the entire poem.
I seemed to remember The Highwayman ending in bloody gunshots and death, and so it did! Now when I see the full moon I'll work very hard to replace that grisly image with:
"The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below;"
