When we purchased we had a murphy bed installed in our front guest room. It has bi-fold shelves. Went with those instead of sliders because they hold more weight of books. I had the entire wall covered with bed in center and cabinets on each side. On the other wall I had a window seat and computer desk installed. I find visitors aren't that often and I can use the room for my office plus my crafts. My spouse has the other extra room for an office with a pull out sofa for needed sleeping space. We could not be happier. There is no bed taking up enormous space and rarely used. When we have visitors we clear my laptop to the kitchen that has a desk and my spouse has a roll top desk that he just closes his computer in. We too have Aero beds for overflow that we can put in our air conditioned Lani. Granted it was not cheap to have my office made up but well worth it to us. It was over $8000. We went to the Murphy bed website and they came out and gave an estimate and it was so easy to select each section you wanted. Price will vary on what you choose to add. We both spend most of our quarantine time in our offices working or crafting. It really depends on how much use YOU want in that room. I have spent years working around a large bed, mostly laying projects out on it and rarely used as a sleeping area. I would recommend a murphy bed. Cost can vary to what you want, expand or not.
