J.J. Watt questions boos during Texans-Chiefs' show of unity: 'I don't fully understand that'
“The moment of unity I personally thought was good,” Watt told reporters. “The booing was unfortunate during that moment — I don’t fully understand that, there was no flag in that, there was nothing involved in that other than two teams coming together to show unity.”
The fact that everyone stood, but had their arms interlocked, perfectly demonstrates to me that the supposed outrage of kneeling during the anthem was never really the issue. It was just a bandwagon that white people who refuse to acknowledge white privilege, or don't want to give it up, used to pretend it was something else besides equal justice for blacks. And lots of comments, in many threads just here, hammers that truth home.
