I have one better, friend had a Polaris(?) golf cart, no longer made, charger failed, not repairable, replacement was $929 before tax and shipping!!! I reviewed the original unit specifications, found a Yamaha replacement charger (48v 15a) for $279, and found a Yamaha replacement socket for $25. Took out the old Polaris socket, installed the new Yamaha socket and a custom cover plate, and it has worked perfectly for over a year. I agree with above you need to match specs, in this case, confirmed battery type, voltage and amperage requirements. There was no additional wiring connections for temperature or other battery information to the charger.
