Sarcasm is often the way some people keep from exploding perhaps? We almost all do it. The person to whom I am answering this question does it. We just can't see our own selves sometimes. Very thoughtful, I too found (in my "former" life...) people often use sarcasm as a defense, ran into that many times. And I think you hit another nerve, that some people really enjoy life (I sure do !) and are absolutely terrified of dying, that it takes over that part of the brain that is dominated by emotion. I agree (mostly) that you can't change anyone's mind, but slightly disagree. I find that when you work with people and judiciously avoid emotionally based "reasoning", you can sometimes bring them to a higher skill level in reasoning and analysis. It is possible, but you are so right, it is not probably. Often actually, because the other person involved also tried to rely on MORE emotion to "convince" the other... Now that's a loose loose. If you want to see this to the ultimate, instead of TOTV, just READ Facebook ! Talk about circular emotional "reasoning" ! !
