Regardless of her guilt, this is a huge tragedy from beginning to end. Casey should have been allowed to give the baby up for adoption as she wanted to. The grandmother never should have forced her to be a mother -- she wasn't capable of being one. Now, we have an innocent who died, a young woman whose life is destroyed and grandparents who are grieving not only the loss of their grandchild but the loss of their daughter's freedom.
We are not the judge nor the jurors. It is not up to us to judge. Leave that in the hands of those who will be forced to hear all of the sordid, sad details.
