For an 8 year old TV, I would say do not bother, house call will be at least $80, parts if still available probably a couple of hundred dollars, and then the installation fee. You did not mention the size, but i just bought a 75 inch, 4k smart TV at best but for $750 and what ever the tax was. This was to replace a 3 year old Vizio that had a failure of the back light and could not be repaired!
