Now this is not a tech savvy houshold. For installation of a new tv, and set up with cable and blueray player would you recommend Bob's TV or Villager Audio?

No, Tv’s are cheap, cost more to repair than new one unless you get 4 or 5 foot one. Circuit over heating causing problem. I had 55” LG new about same time frame it blackout in year. In my case it was under warranty and they replaced the defective circuit board. IMO you was luckily if lasted 8 years.
