Not true. Check these Oct 16th 2020 stats in this link • COVID-19 deaths per capita by country | Statista

Sweden has 580.37 deaths per million
US has 662.88 deaths per million
Happy to say Canada is very low at 263.26 deaths per million.

Sweden are now rethinking herd immunity and adding Covid restrictions.
