It depends on what you consider to be radicals I suppose. It's said in some "news" sources that they were started by alt-right actors who were brought in from outside specifically to create riots, so that the cities would blame the residents of starting the fires. It's also said that it was Antifa. It's also said it was the organization called BLM (as opposed to the movement, which is not an organization). It's also said it was started by residents who snapped after years of constant holding in the tension as a result of racial discrimination in every facet of their lives.
So - was it radicals? Might have been. But WHICH radicals? Radicals serving which side? The alt-right, or leftists? Or something even uglier? Or maybe it was just a couple of locals who had enough, went nuts, and the rest of the collective neighborhood picked up on the momentum and joined in.
What's more important than "who started the fight" is "why there was a fight at all."
