Yes, high speed trains, they have never caught on in America. It could be because of our much greater distances, a well developed airline industry, and the convenience of cars and low gas prices. Regarding education, you need to be more specific. If you are talking about Universities then we are the gold standard as the rest of the world comes here for college. Response to gun violence? Our gun rights are protected. Also, about 60% of all gun deaths are suicide. A lot of the others are gang related. Yes, other countries might have less gang related gun deaths.
