We had a Baja built in 1993 and the vent went straight out through the ceiling and then through the roof. I had ours cleaned after we bought it and the guy who did it said that there was a big "cookie" in there, a round bunch of lint that was compacted and thick. After he finished there were birds on the roof picking up the loose lint to add to their nests. If it's taking that long to dry sheets, you have built up lint in that flue, which is a fire hazard.
