Having lived most of my life in close proximity to Louis Lunch, and having worked at both Burger King and McDonalds, I've learned to accept that any fast-food burger might as well be any other fast-food burger.
Louis Lunch is the first hamburger joint in the country, and it still serves hundreds of people every day in a tiny brick building. The building, on the National Historic Registry, was actually moved down the block due to development of the area. They grind 5 different cuts of meat every day in the back room, all burgers are cooked to order on cast-iron grills that they installed back in 1898. It's served on white toast. You can get cheese-wiz, onion, or tomato. No ketchup, no mustard, no pickles lettuce whatever else. They will yell at you if you even ask. They're amazing.
