Natural herd immunity is protective to the group as a whole. Even having had a different coronavirus in the fairly recent past is thought by some to be protective towards this particular coronavirus. In other words, getting sick from the milder bugs helps to prevent you from getting very sick from the more aggressive bugs.
No one is suggesting sending the weak off to die in the woods. I apologize if it sounded that way.
