I am afraid of this virus because so many can’t become immune to it but succumb fatally. You may be hearing my fears.
I'm 55 with a HS kid and a college kid living at home. They go to work, school, see friends, go to the beach, theme parks, football games and even go on road trip adventures to other states. I am so grateful that they are able to enjoy this time of their lives because this age won't last forever and they should be having fun. If they haven't gotten the virus by now they aren't going to get it. Ditto with me because I've been around them. I doubt that we will get the vaccine.

On the other hand, I have an 85 year old mom who lives in an independent living residence. I have to be much more careful around her. At first I did her errands for her and delivered them to her outside, no hugs. But when restrictions started to lift, she began to enjoy getting out and about again. We are very careful to avoid crowds, wear masks, socially distance, visit stores at less busy times. She does better when she gets sunlight, fresh air and a change of scene. Most of us do. She will likely want the vaccine.

So I have been routinely stepping between the relative freedom of the young and healthy and then on over to the fairly restrictive world of my mom. Different people have different needs. This is not a one size fits all. People can figure out if they want this vaccine all by themselves.
